TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCJB) – The “decoupling” bill in Tallahassee that worries many in the horse capital was approved by the House on Wednesday.
The bill was approved by a vote of 77-34.
Among Marion and Levy County representatives, only Judson Sapp voted for it.
It would remove a requirement for a racing license holder to run live races in order to keep their gambling operations.
A companion bill in the Senate has not moved, and it is uncertain whether the House bill will gain traction in the upper chamber.
