COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Miami Field Hockey had 17 athletes named to the National Field Hockey Coaches’ Association (NFHCA)’s National Academic Squad, the Association announced Wednesday.  Clara Bertolot, Imke Breedijk, Meg Canfield, Kylie Coughlin, Charlotte Davidson, Jülia Fernandez, Bet Gifra, Izzy Hass, Justina Intzes, Jilly Lawn, Riley Mazzalupi, Paula Navarro, Finley Payne, Malena Sabez, Elena Schumacher, Nicky Sjouken, and MC Wolz were among the more than 1,100 athletes honored across 82 Division I institutions.
 
In order to qualify for the honor, student-athletes must achieve a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher through the fall semester and be nominated by their NFHCA member coaches. The NFHCA will release three more academic awards this season: the Scholars of Distinction, The National Academic Team, and the National Scholar-Athlete award, which are set to be unveiled on February 13, 17, and 19, respectively.
