JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The No. 4/5 Florida softball team picked up its first midweek win of the season on Tuesday night, slugging its way to a 20-0 five-inning victory over Jacksonville at Pruitt Softball Complex.
With the win, the Gators improve to 6-0 to start the young 2026 season.
14 of Florida’s 20 runs came in the third inning alone, the most runs the Gators have scored in a single inning since Feb. 15, 2014, when Florida scored 15 against Ohio State.
Four Gator pitchers contributed in the circle, with starting pitcher Ava Brown (2-0) picking up her second win with a three-inning shutout performance.
Florida is now 32-0 against the Dolphins in the all-time series and 13-0 in Jacksonville.

Kendall Grover hit her first home run as a Gator in the third inning, a two-run shot
The senior has now hit 24 home runs in her career
Jocelyn Erickson has recorded a double in four straight games
Both Erickson and Gabi Comia have recorded four multi-hit performances through the first six games
Cassidy McLellan is the only Gator to record a hit in all six games this season
She also drew a career-best two walks against Jacksonville
Townsen Thomas set a new career-best of 5 RBIs, scoring one on a bases-loaded walk, driving in three with a bases-clearing double and hitting an RBI single in her last at-bat of the night
Her five RBIs are the most by a Gator in a game this season
Five different players tallied multi-hit performances: Erickson (3-for-5), Grover (3-for-4), Taylor Shumaker (2-for-4), Comia (2-for-4) and Thomas (2-for-4)
Florida’s 20 runs are the most scored against Jacksonville in series history
The Gators batted around twice in the 14-run third inning
Florida drew a season-high 10 walks at the plate
It’s the most walks by the Gators since drawing 10 at Auburn on March 29, 2025
The Gator offense is outscoring opponents 57-4, while the pitching staff has allowed just three runs in 39 innings pitched
Florida has already recorded three shutouts, combining for a .72 staff ERA
