Two men were arrested Wednesday in Kaufman County on outstanding warrants after a body was found in a car in Florida, according to a statement from the sheriff’s office.

Deputies responded to a call in West Broward County, Florida, on Feb. 1 and located a green Honda parked in a grassy area near a park. As officers approached the vehicle, they found a deceased man in the passenger seat, according to the statement.

Homicide detectives were called to the scene, and they began an investigation, in which the Kaufman County sheriff’s office was contacted for assistance in locating two suspects.

Police said both individuals had active warrants out of Broward County, Florida, for murder charges.

Investigators located the suspects’ vehicle at an apartment complex in Forney on Wednesday, the statement said.

Forney police and Kaufman County constables, sheriffs and a K-9 team conducted a traffic stop and took both suspects into custody.

Trevon Quinones and Jayden DeJesus, both 19, are facing charges of murder and tampering or fabricating physical evidence with the intent to impair, according to the statement.

Both men were transported to the Kaufman County jail and are being held pending transfer to Florida.
