LEE COUNTY, Fla. – Doubt and worry can seep in during the darkest hours, and for Everton Coutinho, it was around 1 a.m. when he feared his father might never be found.
However, thanks to a dedicated bloodhound, those fears turned into relief, and now the family is expressing their gratitude.
“We are blessed that he’s ok … thank you thank you thank you,” said a family member.
The night that tested this family’s resolve led to a heartwarming reunion.
Remy, the bloodhound who never gave up, met the family he helped reunite.
“And this is all the grandkids. They really post this together is because now Remy, he’s a superhero,” said a family member.
Everton Coutinho is Joceli’s son, but the entire family wanted to thank Remy. Coutinho shared his experience from the night his father went missing to the moment he learned his dad was alive.
“I know they found him, but I didn’t know whether he was alive or dead,” said Coutinho. “So he told me, like, Look, your dad’s alive. He’s well, he’s conscious. He’s very strong. And that’s when I think I just like, she was such a relief.”
Coutinho said his faith carried him through the worst moments, and now, gratitude is what carries his family forward.
