• I’m ticked off that certain health companies and roadside assistance companies never answer their phones. Five times, I have had to drive 20 minutes and go to their offices to speak to someone. Ridiculous! The last time I called, I arrived at their office while still on hold. What do people do who can’t drive there? Do better! Hire more people!

• I’m ticked that farmers harvest their fruit before they are a decent size, especially mandarin oranges.

• I’ve been driving for 63 years and have never been rear-ended, thankfully. Some years ago, as much as I dislike people tailgating me, I came to terms with it and choose to ignore it and pay more attention to the cars in front of and alongside me. Those are the real hazards to be concerned about. Not to mention that when focusing on cars behind you, you’re not focusing on the cars in front of you.

The flip side

• There’s a special angel on this earth. He stopped to change the tire for my 75-year-old loved one at U.S. 1 and R.J. Conlan Boulevard in Melbourne. We are grateful and thankful for his kindness.

• After the first freeze, my neighbor, Rafael, noticed a huge lake on the side of my house. He turned off the main water supply and called a sprinkler repair company. Really good guy!

• I was glad to read the comment from the reader who complained about Spectrum’s no-sound episodes. I thought it was my TV and I’ve been contemplating replacing it. Whew! Close call.
