Forney police and Kaufman County Constables conducted the traffic stop and arrested two men with warrants for murder out of Florida.
FORNEY, Texas — Two men wanted for murder in Florida were arrested during a traffic stop in Forney, Texas, according to officials.
The Kaufman County Sheriff’s Office said Trevon Quinones and Jayden DeJesus were arrested Wednesday and charged with murder and tampering/fabricating evidence with intent to impair.Â
Kaufman County investigators said they were contacted by the United States Marshal Service, which requested help locating two suspects believed to be in North Texas, both of whom had active warrants out of Broward County, Florida.Â
The Broward County Sheriff’s Office said deputies responded to a call for a suspicious vehicle in an unincorporated area of West Broward County. A deputy and park ranger found a green Honda parked in a grassy area along the north side of a park, where they found a dead man in the front passenger seat.Â
Broward County Homicide Detectives started their investigation, which led to authorities seeking assistance from Kaufman County.Â
The suspect vehicle that law enforcement were looking for, which Quinones and DeJesus were in, was found at an apartment complex in Forney, officials said. The Kaufman County Sheriff’s Office, along with the Kaufman County K-9 Unit, Forney Police Department and Kaufman County Constable’s Office, initiated the traffic stop and arrested the suspects without incident, officials said.
Quinones and DeJesus were booked into the Kaufman County Jail, where they await extradition back to Florida.
