TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – Tallahassee and Leon County received feedback about a road project in the works on Thursday.
The Blueprint-funded work includes improvements along Tharpe Street from Ocala Road to Capital Circle.

The project would improve the road, increase access to parks and add miles of greenways and trails for pedestrians and bikes. One of the concerns from locals is the impact the construction will have on traffic in the area. But ultimately, residents like Shamari Feaster say they are glad for the added safety features.
“The project looks pretty sensible. Sidewalks have been needed here for a long time. Seeing people walk is very dangerous. Kids getting off the bus, it’s been dangerous for a long time, so we needed sidewalks,” Feaster said.

The next step of the project is the design phase, and after that, construction will take place as soon as funding is available.
