A man in St. Pete was arrested by local police, as officers say he has been charged with possession and transmission of child pornography.
The St. Petersburg Police Department said Thursday that Marlon Perez, 30, was arrested and is now facing charges.
Detectives from the Cyber Investigations Unit say they began their investigation when they got information about child pornography being accessed and shared online.

“Through various investigative techniques, detectives identified the suspect as 30-year-old Marlon Perez,” police said.
“The images were of children between the ages of four and six years old,” the detectives said.
Perez was taken to the Pinellas County Jail after the arrest.
An investigation is still ongoing.
