Mercury Racing’s 15-Inch mid-section option for its 200R, 300R and ROS four-stroke outboard engines created big buzz when the Fond du Lac, Wis., company unveiled it in a first-rate video featuring extreme sports magician Travis Pastrana. But high-performance powerboating fans in the United States will get their first in-person look at the ROS product with the new mid-section at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show.

The 15-Inch mid-section option for Mercury Racing’s 200R, 300R and ROS four-stroke outboard engines currently is being shipped to boat-builders.

The South Florida event opens one week from today—October 29—and a ROS outboard with the competition-coveted 15-Inch mid is now part of the Fond du Lac, Wis., company’s “Tour Truck display. The Tour Truck will be located at the show’s Bahia Mar Marina venue. In addition to the ROS product, the literal and figurative marketing vehicle is set up with 500R and 400R outboard engine cutaways

.Mercury Racing also will have an exhibit in the convention center.

“The convention center display will feature the core Racing outboard line-up,” explained Anna Frazier, the brand manager for Mercury Racing.”

Though Frazier added that the company won’t be releasing any “new” product at the show, the exhibit will include a 300R outboard, a popular consumer choice and spec-class power for offshore racing’s Super Stock class. The display engine, however, is equipped with a standard 20-inch mid-section rather the 15-Inch version.
