H&H Bagels
You’ve seen H&H Bagels on “Sex and the City” and “Seinfeld,” even “The Office.” Now, you can try them for yourself in Miami.
New York City’s most famous bagels are coming to Pinecrest as part of the brand’s expansion into Florida. In addition to its seven locations in New York, H&H already has locations in Boca Raton, West Palm Beach and Tampa, as well as franchises in California, Washington, D.C., Tennessee and North Carolina.
The Miami-Dade location, a franchise that will be owned and operated by Dylan Levin, opens its doors Feb. 19.
CEO Jay Rushin, who has been leading the company since 2014, said that bagels have proved a hit in the other Florida markets.

“We’re incredibly excited to continue sharing our bagels with the South Florida community,” he said in a statement. “The response to our openings in Boca Raton and West Palm Beach has been amazing, and we’re thrilled to bring an authentic taste of New York to Miami.”
He added that the brand also plans to open an H&H Bagels in Wynwood, too.
What makes the bagels so popular?
The brand, which was created on the Upper West Side in 1972 by Helmer Toro and Hector Hernandez, continues to use its original recipe. This includes kettle-boiling the bagels in that water, then baking them.
The shops offer the traditional spreads — scallion, spicy scallion, veggie, strawberry — as well as the classic bacon, egg and cheese bagel and specialty sandwiches (turkey, bacon, avocado, pepper jack and southwest sauce, or veggie cream cheese with avocado, tomato and cucumbers).
The Pinecrest store will also offer H&H catering boxes that contain a variety of bagels with toppings and spreads.
