Good morning, Central Florida. Here’s what you need to know today.

Your Weather Planner

Mostly sunny skies will resume after areas of morning fog mix out. Highs in the upper 70s can be expected to be followed by lows in the mid-50s for tonight. Rain shouldn’t interfere with any Valentine’s Day plans, whether during the day or at night. Saturday will be the drier weekend day with highs up again in the upper 70s.

By Sunday, highs will peak around 80 with clouds on the increase as a front approaches from the west. While there could be a stray shower late in the day, models are finally starting to agree that the arrival of the steadier rain would be after the Daytona 500 ends. Increasing rain takes shape overnight into early Monday along with an isolated thunderstorm possible, but skies will gradually clear throughout Presidents’ Day.

Quote of the Day

Republican House Speaker Mike Johnson said Thursday that he did not think it was appropriate for the Justice Department to be tracking the search histories of lawmakers who are reviewing files from the Jeffrey Epstein investigation.

The rare criticism of the Trump administration came as photographs emerged revealing an apparent index of records reviewed by a Democratic member of Congress who was among the lawmakers given an opportunity to read less-redacted versions of the Epstein files at a department annex and on department-owned computers.

Rep. Jamie Raskin, the top Democrat on the House Judiciary Committee, asked the Justice Department’s inspector general to investigate what he characterized as “spying,” and Johnson, a close ally of President Donald Trump, offered his own scolding when asked about the issue Thursday.
