CAPE CORAL, Fla. (WINK) — Cape Coral is gearing up for Bike Night, an event that promises good food, music, and community fun. The event is set to take place in downtown Cape Coral near Southeast 47th Terrace.
Residents and visitors should be aware of several road closures due to the event, especially since it coincides with Valentine’s Day.
The closures will affect Southeast 47th Terrace between Southeast 9th Place and Vincennes Boulevard, and access near Southeast 11th Place will be even more restricted.
Bike Night will run from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m., but road closures will begin as early as 1 p.m. Drivers are encouraged to plan ahead and use alternate routes to avoid heavier traffic.
Cape Coral resident Pat Prosperi shared why the event is significant to him and the community.
“There are a lot of people that I haven’t seen in a long time that I get to see. I think it’s very important. It brings awareness to the community, and it brings a little bit of money here, revenue. It’s good,” said Prosperi.
City officials urge drivers to be mindful of the road closures and expect increased traffic in the area.
