Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office deputy faces charge in Palm Beach County
DELRAY BEACH, Fla. — A Miami-Dade County Sheriff’s Office deputy faced a criminal charge on Saturday after getting caught in a sting that showed him on video saying he was fooled into thinking that he was meeting a teenage girl.
561 Predator Catchers, or 561 PC, a Delray Beach-based vigilante group associated with MMA fighter Dustin “Scrappy” Lampros, shared the video showing M-DSO Lt. Chris Diaz admitting he had sent a sexual selfie to a user he thought was 15 years old.
Miami-Dade Sheriff Rosie Cordero-Stutz verified Diaz’s employment after Diaz’s arrest on a battery charge.
“I am outraged by the arrest of one of my deputies on criminal charges involving alleged contact with an individual who posed as a minor,” Cordero-Stutz said. “This behavior is unacceptable and represents a serious betrayal of the oath we swear and the trust our community places in us to protect our children.”
Lampros said Diaz, 50, was outside of a movie theater when he sat down with him and Vitaly Zdorovetskiy, a YouTuber and prankster who streams on Kick. The video showing Diaz had over 43,000 views.
“That’s my penis,” Diaz told Lampros when confronted by his message, according to the 561 PC video.
The video also shows Diaz saying that although the user identified as a 15-year-old girl, he had “hoped” she was an 18-year-old woman.
Vigilantes post on Instagram The vigilantes of 561 PC reported “catching” a Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office deputy on Friday in Delray Beach.
