BRENT, Fla. (CBS12) — A Florida man is behind bars after he allegedly stabbed a woman in the arm with a knife while they were having an argument.

According to the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office (ECSO), at about 1:30 p.m., deputies responded to a stabbing near Truman Avenue near Warehouse Lane. During the investigation, it was learned that a couple had gotten into a verbal argument that turned physical.

The suspect, identified as Brandon Hammons, allegedly began hitting the victim, and he stabbed her in the arm with a knife.

Hammons was quickly arrested and taken to the Escambia County Jail for counts of aggravated battery.

The victim received medical treatment for her injuries, ECSO says.
