Deadly multi-vehicle crash shuts down NB Florida’s Turnpike near Greenacres

LAKE WORTH BEACH, Fla. (CBS12) — Northbound Florida’s Turnpike has shut down following a deadly multi-vehicle crash, causing a traffic standstill.

According to FL511, the closure is also due to police activity, which has closed all northbound lanes from Exit 86:Boynton Beach Boulevard to Exit 93: Lake Worth Road.

The closure began just before 11 a.m. on Saturday, with the crash reportedly occuring arund 10:11 a.m. Saturday morning, just before Mile Marker 90.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol’s traffic alert page, at least one motorist was killed in the crash.

Authorities have not released any details about the crash at this time.
