Family Initiative has hired Yohana Resto, MS, as its new director of development, strengthening the organization’s leadership as it continues to expand programs and services for children and families impacted by autism and foster care across Florida.

In her role as director of development, Resto will lead fundraising strategy, donor engagement and philanthropic partnerships in support of Family Initiative’s mission to empower families and ensure the safety, permanency, and well-being of children impacted by autism spectrum disorder and foster care.

“Yohana brings a deep understanding of the systems that support families, as well as the real-world challenges they face,” said David Brown, president and co-founder of Family Initiative. “Her experience, leadership, and commitment to strengthening communities will be a tremendous asset as we continue to grow our impact across Florida.”

Resto is a lifelong resident of Cape Coral and the Southwest Florida community and brings more than 18 years of experience in child welfare and nonprofit leadership. She has dedicated her career to supporting families through some of life’s most challenging moments.

She holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology and a master’s degree in mental health counseling. Her professional expertise includes nonprofit organizational leadership through program development, staff training and grant writing, with a focus on building effective systems and solutions that support parents, children, and communities.
