DELRAY BEACH, Fla. —

A Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office deputy is accused of sexually contacting a 24-year-old woman who posed as a 15-year-old girl in Delray Beach on Friday night and was subsequently relieved of his duties.

The situation came to the attention of the Delray Beach Police Department after 561 Predator Catchers, or 561 PC, a Delray Beach-based vigilante group associated with MMA fighter Dustin “Scrappy” Lampros, shared the video of Christopher Jorge Diaz, 50, admitting he had sent a sexual selfie to a user he was told was a 15-year-old girl. He later came in contact with the person at Ipic Theaters.

WPLG obtained the video before it was taken down.

Diaz, of Hialeah, was booked into the Palm Beach County Jail at 2:55 a.m. Saturday on a misdemeanor charge of battery–touching or striking. Because he is a law enforcement officer, no mugshot is publicly available.

During his first appearance later Saturday, he pleaded not guilty and bond was set at $1,000 with his next court date at 10:30 a.m. Feb. 20 as case disposition.

He was released at 4:45 p.m. after posting the bond.

Diaz was ordered not to contact the victim.

On Saturday afternoon, Sheriff Rosie Cordero-Stutz posted on X without naming the deputy: “After reviewing the law-enforcement information related to this case, I have directed that termination proceeds begin immediately. The deputy has been relieved of duty without pay, effective immediate.”

On Saturday, she posted: “I am outraged by the arrest of one of my deputies on criminal charges involving alleged contact with an individual who posed as a minor.

“The behavior is unacceptable and represents a serious betrayal of the oath we swear and the trust our community placed in us to protect our children.”

Lampros confronted Diaz, 50, outside Ipic Theaters on Southeast Fourth Avenue when he appeared with Vitaly Zdorovetskiy, a YouTuber and prankster who streams on Kick.

“That’s my penis,” Diaz told Lampros when confronted by his message, according to the 561 PC video.

The video also shows Diaz saying that although he was told it was a 15-year-old girl, he had “hoped” she was an 18-year-old woman.

“We don’t work with them, we don’t work alongside them, we just call 911,” Lampros said about Delray Beach police.

At 9:17 p.m. Friday, a Delray Beach police officer responded to the west side of the theater in reference to a “report of a Hispanic male who traveled to the location in order to meet up with a minor and conduct a lascivious act,” according to the arrest report.

The deputy obtained a sworn statement captured on body-worn camera that approximately two days ago, she had met him on a dating app.

“While texting via iMessages, (the victim) told Diaz she was 15 years old, which Diaz disregarded, continuing his conversations, which were sexual at the time.”

The victim said she Facetimed her several times, and he “would masturbate while Facetiming.”

The person accepted his invitation to meet up at the movie theater.

“Immediately after meeting up, Diaz started to touch (person’s) face while telling her, ‘I want to kiss you,’ disregarding the fact that (the person) was telling him she was nervous and was trying to maintain a distance,” according to the arrest report.

The victim told police was touching her all over her upper chest, though he never went under her clothing.

The person said she was feeling uneasy because of Diaz’s contact, and they left the theater.

The 561 Predator Catchers met up with him and showed him information from the video chat. Diaz told them he was a 50-year-old deputy in Miami-Dade.

For a few years, Lampros has been working with organizations to stop predators on the streets.

Last year, a 44-year-old Delray Beachwas arrested after attempting to solicit a minor via the dating app Grindr. He unknowingly interacted with a decoy from 561 Predator Catchers.

In 2024, a 38-year-old Davie woman confessed to attempting to meet up with a minor in Delray Beach.
