INSTEAD OF DRIVING THROUGH THE PATHWAYS, SIT TIGHT. >> MY NAME IS BACK IN SOUTHEAST CAPE CORAL AND I LIKE HOW THEY SHUT DOWN THE AVENUE. IT’S VERY FAMILY ORIENTED. AND YEAH. >> I WOULD LIKE BIKES BY THIS IS THE SECOND BIKE NIGHT SINCE THE CITY OF CAPE CORAL INTRODUCED A LAYOUT CHANGE. MOTORCYCLES ARE STATIONED IN THE LOT ON SOUTH EAST 47TH TERRENCE, THAT MEANS THE AREA BETWEEN SOUTHEAST 9TH PLACE AND SOUTHEAST 11TH PLACE WERE CLOSED TO ALL VEHICLES. THE CITY SAYS THE LAYOUT IS DESIGNED TO MAKE IT SAFER FOR PEDESTRIANS AND GIVE EMERGENCY VEHICLE ACCESS. BUT THE CHANGES HAVE RECEIVED A MIXED REACTION FROM ATTENDEES WERE NOT GETTING USED TO IT. >> THIS THIS IS A LITTLE BETTER WITH THE PAW KING. ALL 47 TERRACE IN THE PARKING LOT. SO PEOPLE COULD. THEY? THEY CAN VISUALIZE AND SEE EVERYTHING AS THEY WALK AROUND. WHEN YOU STICK US IN THE BACK OF A PARKING LOT. WITH CAUSE THAT I’M NOT SUPPOSED TO BE THERE. IT’S JUST NOT RIGHT. Cape Coral’s “Bike Night” returned with it’s new layout, prompting mixed reactions from attendees about the changes aimed at improving pedestrian safety and emergency access.

Bike night was back Saturday night in southeast Cape Coral with a new layout, as the city called for motorcycles to be stationed in a lot on Southeast 47th Terrace instead of driving through the pathways, aiming to improve pedestrian safety and emergency vehicle access. Though bike lovers were excited to see the event return, not everyone is pleased with the new layout.Tom Lento Punch from Lucky 7 Custom Cycles said, “We’re not getting used to it. This is a little better with the parking. People can visualize and see everything as they walk around. When you stick us in the back of a parking lot with cars that are not supposed to be there, it’s just not right.”Sandy Kidd from Cape Coral shared her views, too.”I’m used to the bikes being on the street. You have to make an intentional point to get over to this area. I’m sure it has its good benefits, but at the same time, you know, it’s not bad having it all here together,” Kidd said.
