FORT PIERCE, Fla. (CBS12) — One man is dead and two others are hospitalized following a shooting early Sunday morning at the Elks Lodge in Fort Pierce, according to police.

Officers with the Fort Pierce Police Department responded to a 911 call reporting gunfire at approximately 12:46 a.m. on February 15 in the 1400 block of North 24th Street.

When officers arrived at the scene, they found three adult men suffering from gunshot wounds. All three victims were transported to a local hospital for treatment.

Police said two of the victims are currently in stable condition. The third victim later succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the hospital. Authorities have not yet released the identity of the deceased pending notification of next of kin.

The investigation remains in its early stages and is ongoing.
