Belleair Development Group who is responsible for those “affordable living,” four-story monstrosities being built on Eighth Avenue and Donegan Road, now want to cram the very same thing into the former Terra brownfield/landfill in Largo.

This developer has never convinced us that this site will either be properly remediated or stabilized. Prior testing of Terra proved it was contaminated and terribly unstable, not surprising for a dump with no liner.

Located right next to Rainbow Village, this will add a total of 1,000-plus residents in less than a mile in diameter. Not to mention how horribly this will tax our roads, drainage and other vital infrastructure.

This is tremendous overreach to have two public housing facilities literally back-to-back, and we are grateful to the Pinellas Planning Council and Commission for voting this down twice and we will be applauding their efforts to continue to do so.
