Over $5M In Drugs Seized By Coast Guard, Border Patrol In Fort Lauderdale | 1290 WJNO

A whole lotta drugs won’t see the light of day on our streets…thanks to Coast Guard Station Fort Lauderdale , Customs and Border Protection officers and Homeland Security Investigators.

Agents seized approximately 745 pounds of cocaine worth an estimated $5.6 million, from two suspected drug smuggling vessels off Port Everglades.

A Fort Lauderdale police boat crew along with a CBP K9 officer interdicted a suspected drug smuggling boat; a crew also interdicted a suspected drug smuggling vessel, 7 miles east of Port Everglades.
