A gas leak was contained on Monday after a driver who crashed into a well-known Fort Lauderdale restaurant broke the gas line, fire rescue said.

According to Fort Lauderdale Fire Rescue, the driver crashed into Anthony’s Runway 84 at around 8 a.m.

When the driver called 911, he said he smelled gas, and it was revealed that his vehicle had broken the gas line when he crashed into the restaurant.

Fire rescue and the Broward Sheriff Fire Rescue’s Hazmat unit arrived at the scene, and the leak was capped after 40 minutes.

No injuries were reported.
