An investigation was underway in southwest Miami-Dade after a deputy was forced to fire their weapon during a dog attack on Monday, authorities said.
According to the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office, the shooting happened at Southwest 172nd Avenue and 161st Street after a deputy discharged their weapon following the dog attack.
Miami-Dade Fire Rescue said a person was taken to the hospital, but it’s unclear if it was the deputy.
It’s also unclear if the dog was injured after the deputy fired their weapon.
