Woman sentenced to 40 years after shooting Florida deputy while handcuffed

A woman caught on camera shooting a deputy in Marion County while in handcuffs was sentenced to 40 years on Monday, according to court documents.Rheanna Harden, 22, was arrested during a traffic stop in 2025.She was accused of driving with a suspended license, providing false identification to law enforcement, and possession of drugs, according to the Marion County Sheriff’s Office.In the video, Harden is seen searching for something in her pants while sitting in the back of a patrol vehicle.Moments later, she finds the gun and begins to pull the trigger while the deputy drives.According to the MCSO, the patrol car crashed into a utility pole before the deputy managed to exit the vehicle and return fire.The MCSO said Harden suffered from a shoulder and hip injury, and the deputy sustained a graze wound near his right eye.Both were transported to a nearby hospital and later released.Harden was hit with additional charges, including attempted second-degree murder of a law enforcement officer and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, according to the MCSO.She has since been adjudicated guilty on all charges.
