Several women have come forward accusing Evan Kaufman of illegally uploading explicit videos of them to pornographic sites or sexually assaulting them.
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Investigators with the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office are working to identify more potential victims of a man accused of sexual battery and illegally uploading sexually explicit videos of women online without their knowledge.
Evan Kaufman, 32, was arrested at his home on Seven Pines Island in Jacksonville on Wednesday, Feb. 12, after a months-long investigation in which several women came forward with accusations spanning multiple years.
Six women who had previously had sex with Kaufman appeared in more than 29 videos uploaded by the suspect to three different pornographic websites, according to the police report. The uploaded videos were titled to include the victim’s names.Â
Although each of the six had allowed the suspect to record, they told police that Kaufman said they would be for his own private use. He was arrested on ten counts of sexual cyber harassment related to the uploads.
We spoke with our crime and safety expert about the case.
“It could be sent internationally,” Mark Baughman said. “It’s going to be hard to go out and ensure that they’re not, that every one of them is going to be taken down off the sites.”
Kaufman is also accused of taking sexual advantage of two intoxicated women, resulting in charges of battery, sexual battery and video voyeurism.
In one of the incidents listed in an arrest report, the victim said she was offered a drink from Kaufman at a 2023 Jaguars game and “blacked out” on the way to his home. Although the suspect allegedly told the victim that they did not have sexual intercourse, she was later told that Kaufman was sharing sexually explicit images of her in which she appeared to be unconscious.
“You’re dealing with a serial sexual predator,” Baughman said.
The victim told police she did not initially call police “because she was scared as the suspect was well known and had a lot of money,” according to the report.Â
Kaufman was also accused of sexually battering a heavily intoxicated woman in 2024. According to the arrest report, the victim and the suspect had met that day during a hangout with acquaintances. After drinking heavily and blacking out during the gathering at the suspect’s home, the victim said she woke up in Kaufman’s bed fully naked and with bruising on her neck. Witnesses told police she was so intoxicated that they had to dress her and carry her from the room.
“Admittedly the suspect says, ‘Oh, I did sleep with you, but it was consensual,'” Baughman said. “Well, the one good thing for the state and the prosecutors is there are witnesses there, and hopefully those witnesses will help piece that case together and harden it a little bit.”
Multiple unidentified potential victims were also seen in photos and videos belonging to and uploaded by Kaufman, according to an arrest report. Police are asking if anyone believes Kaufman may have assaulted them or posted explicit images of them online to reach out to the sheriff’s office’s Special Assault Unit at 904-630-2168.
“We want to bring justice to every one of Kaufman’s victims,” JSO said in a social media post.
