U.S. Rep. Carlos A. Gimenez and other local leaders are holding a press conference on Tuesday “to announces decisive action on Cuba,” his office said in a statement.
Gimenez, Miami-Dade County Tax Collector Dariel Fernandez and other leaders of the Cuban exile community are set to make their announcement at PortMiami at 11 a.m.
Several local lawmakers, Gimenez among them, have been vocal about U.S. policy toward Cuba. In the past few weeks, they have expressed their “deep concern” about U.S. companies engaging in business activities with the Cuban regime and urged the U.S. to suspend flights and remittances to the island.
