JACKSONVILLE, N.C. (WITN) – The City of Jacksonville has announced its 2025 assistant municipal manager of the year.
The North Carolina City and Council Management Association presented the honor to Deputy City Manager Ron Massey.
The NCCCMA, an organization dedicated to city and county leadership roles, created the annual award to recognize outstanding assistant managers.
Massey retired as a Colonel following a 30-year career in the Army and has served as Jacksonville’s deputy city manager for 18 years.
“It is no surprise to us that Mr. Massey has been honored with this award,” said City Manager Joshua Ray. “His talent is a unique blend of leadership skills and management improvement. Mr. Massey’s leadership over the last 18 years has strengthened our partnership with Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune and New River Air Station.”
