FORT MYERS – The nation is facing another partial government shutdown, impacting thousands of workers across the country.
The TSA, FEMA, Coast Guard and the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Agency are all working without pay.
Just 12 weeks after a 43-day shutdown, TSA workers are again affected. DHS says only essential activities like law enforcement and maritime protection will continue during the funding lapse.
A traveler said, “It’s really too bad to hear that these people aren’t going to get paid. And yeah, that’ll definitely be difficult for the community.”
Another traveler urged, “Anything that you want to say to our government about it? Um, get your act together.”
TSA workers will receive back pay once the shutdown ends.
