THIS HAPPENED AT AN APARTMENT COMPLEX JUST AROUND THE CORNER FROM THE POLICE DEPARTMENT. ONE WOMAN TOLD WESH TWO SHE HEARD GUNSHOTS AND A CAR SPEEDING OUT OF THE COMPLEX AROUND 2:00 IN THE MORNING. OFFICERS BLOCKED OFF A STRETCH OF PENNSYLVANIA AVENUE NEAR WEBSTER, OUTSIDE OF THE COMPLEX, FOR HOURS WHILE THEY INVESTIGATED. One person is dead after a shooting in Winter Park early Tuesday morning.

The shooting happened in an affordable housing apartment community owned by the City of Winter Park along Pennsylvania Avenue at Railroad Avenue.

Police tell WESH 2 the person who was killed is a male but have not released how old he is.

No one is in custody yet, according to police.

A stretch of Pennsylvania Avenue between Webster Avenue and Swoope Avenue is closed while police investigate.
