A Daytona Beach man was taken into custody Saturday after sending threats with videos of gunfire, threatening “this is what’s in store,” according to the Volusia Sheriff’s Office. The VSO Domestic Security Unit located Adrian Morales following the threats.Morales was taken into custody at the Icon One Daytona apartments across from the Daytona International Speedway the day prior to the big event.VSO said Morales’ proximity to the speedway was concerning due to “past grievances and aggressive messages he left for a NASCAR executive.”The new threats were directed at someone else, VSO said.Morales referenced the sheriff’s office, the DEA and the FBI in his new threats.According to VSO, the pattern of “increasingly erratic behavior created urgency for law enforcement intervention.”Detectives with the sheriff’s office took Morales into custody and recovered the rifle used in the threatening video. They also found several rounds of ammunition in Morales’ vehicle.Morales is held at the Volusia County jail without bond.
