FORT MYERS BEACH – The Fort Myers Beach Town Council has appointed John McLean to fill a vacant seat, bringing his expertise in land use and planning to the table.
McLean, who previously served on the Fort Myers Beach LPA Advisory Committee, will help guide the island through its ongoing recovery and redevelopment. Town leaders believe his experience makes him a strong candidate for the role.
“John is great because he comes from our LPA Advisory Committee, which is a committee that deals with the land use on the island, which is a really hot topic, obviously. So he comes in with a wealth of experience,” said Abigail Eberhart, Town of Fort Myers Beach PIO.
McLean will serve on the council until November and has announced plans to run to keep the seat. Voters will decide who will represent them moving forward.
