The No. 14 Florida State Seminoles baseball team crushed the Jacksonville Dolphins 13-3 on Tuesday at John Sessions Stadium in Jacksonville, Florida. They improved to 3-0 with the win, earning their first road victory of the year.

After three scoreless innings to start the game, the FSU offense exploded in the middle innings. It started in the fourth inning when Myles Bailey walked before Cal Fisher and Hunter Carns singled to load the bases with nobody out. An error on a grounder by Chase Williams allowed one run to score, but Fisher was thrown out during the play.

A Brody DeLamielleu ground out drove in another run before Gabe Fraser made it a 3-0 game with a two-out single. Fisher added another run in the fourth inning with a single, driving in Noah Sheffield.

They took control of the game in the sixth inning, putting up six runs to pull away from the Dolphins. Williams started it with a walk and came around to score on a wild pitch after stealing second and third easily. Three more walks loaded the bases before Brauden Dowd made it a 7-0 game with a two RBI single.

A single by Sheffield drove in another run before Bailey and Fisher walked, driving in another run and putting them up 9-0. Williams made it 10-0 with a groundout, scoring Sheffield. The six runs are the most they have scored in an inning all season and came on two hits, three errors, and seven walks.

Payton Manco started the game on the mound for the Seminoles and did not allow a run in three innings. He worked around three hits and a walk, recording two strikeouts in his season debut.

Jacksonville responded with three runs of their own in the bottom of the sixth inning on a home run by Derek Bermudez after they got back-to-back singles off Gabe Nard to open the inning. They were the only runs they scored as FSU’s pitchers allowed just eight hits and two walks to go with seven strikeouts.

John Abrahama, Jake Echols, and Kevin Mebil combined to pitch four innings, allowing two hits and striking out five. It was Echols and Mebil’s FSU debut.

Up next for FSU baseball
