JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A motorcyclist died in a crash Tuesday on Arlington Expressway East at the Mathews Bridge the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office said.
The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office said at around 10 a.m., a motorcyclist in his early 30s was driving at a high speed. JSO said he sideswiped a car in the left lane, then careened into the right lane where he hit the rear of a Ford F-150 pickup truck. Both drivers stayed on scene and cooperated.
Jacksonville Fire and Rescue took the rider to a nearby hospital where he died.
Officials said this is the 26th traffic fatality in Duval in 2026 and the seventh involving a motorcycle.
All lanes have been reopened.
