MILTON, Fl. — A Florida murder suspect was arrested after being located in Limestone County, according to law enforcement officials.

On Friday, February 13, deputies with the Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office (FL) responded to a residence along Floridale Drive in Milton, Florida for an unconscious female.

Upon arrival, deputies located 19-year-old Azalia Heather Dotson-Salinas, who was found dead in a trailer on the property.

According to authorities, the Major Crimes Unit, along with the Crime Scene Unit were contacted as the scene was secured.

Florida Law enforcement officials added that the scene was classified as a homicide after the Major Crimes Unit investigated the scene and conducted interviews with Dotson-Salina’s family.

RCSO said that her boyfriend, 18-year-old Dominic Alexander Van Wasshenova, became a person of interest in the investigation.

News 19 learned that Van Wasshenova was found by the Limestone County Sheriff’s Office and the Huntsville Police Department along I-65 near Athens. He was then detained as he waited for Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office investigators to arrive in Limestone County to interview him.

Following the interview, Van Wasshenova was arrested on Homicide- Murder Dangerous Depraved w/o Premeditation.

He is currently being held in the Limestone County Jail and is awaiting extradition.

The FBI, Limestone County Sheriff’s Office, and Huntsville Police Department all assisted during the investigation.
