The Clemson men’s club lacrosse road trip has come to an end, and a tour of Jacksonville, Florida, handed the Tigers their first loss of the 2026 campaign.
On Feb. 13, No. 19 Clemson fell to No. 12 Florida State, 19-11. The following afternoon, the Tigers got back into the win column against Jacksonville, 18-4.
Clemson, 4-1, fell behind the Seminoles early. The Tigers were unable to erase a 7-3 first-quarter deficit that became 11-5 by halftime. FSU didn’t ease up as the game progressed, scoring six goals in the fourth quarter to Clemson’s two.
Despite the loss, multiple Tigers had a night.
Emerson Smith recorded a career-high 23 saves between the pipes, totaling a 54.8 save percentage on the night.
Aidan McNulty continued his hot start to the year with four goals, while Tyler Superczynski totaled 5 points on two goals.
On Saturday, Clemson flipped the script.
The Tigers jumped out to a large lead in the first period, 7-1, en route to a 13-2 halftime advantage over Jacksonville.
Holden Morrison and McNulty combined for 8 points, joining Carter Gregory as the only three to score more than one goal in the contest.
Landen Snyder and Finn Joyce each scored a goal with four and three assists, respectively. Superczynski tallied two assists against the Dolphins as well.
Nick Fussaro, Bailey Cook, Jack Landers, Gennaro Petrongolo, Chase Darke and Colin Hurliman all scored one goal each.
Clemson returns home this weekend, squaring off against West Virginia under the lights on Friday. On Saturday, the Tigers will have their first shot at an Atlantic Lacrosse Conference opponent in Kentucky at 2 p.m.
