PORT ST. LUCIE – A suspect wanted in the shooting death of his father in Port St. Lucie was arrested in Hollywood on Feb. 18, hours after the shooting occurred, according to police reports.
Sheldon Brian Morrison, 41, was taken into custody at about 1:30 p.m., Feb. 18 by the U.S. Marshals Service, following investigative work and information developed by Port St. Lucie Police detectives with federal authorities.
Sheldon Brian Morrison, who was wanted for the murder of his 69-year-old father, Glen Morrison, is being transported back to Port St. Lucie where he will be interviewed by Port St. Lucie Police Department Major Crimes Detectives. A search of the suspect’s vehicle will be conducted in Hollywood by Port St. Lucie Police detectives pending approval of a search warrant, according to police reports.
Sheldon Brian Morrison is believed to have shot Glen Morrison on Feb. 18 in the garage of the older Morrison’s home in the 5900 block of Northwest Ketona Circle, Port St. Lucie, according to police reports. After the shooting, Brian Morrison fled the area in a gold/beige Cadillac sedan, according to police reports.
At about 7:45 a.m., a woman called 911 to report that a man, later identified as Glen Morrison, was shot inside the garage of the home on Northwest Ketona Circle. When officers responded, they determined that Morrison died as a result of a gunshot wound and called the matter a homicide.
There is no active threat to the general public at this time. This remains an active and ongoing investigation.
