The charges stem from a Sept. 19 road-rage incident that happened in the area of Southwest 92nd Avenue and Southwest 4th Street.
According to an arrest report, the victim got out of his car empty handed and ran up to Perez’s car where a verbal argument ensued.
During the argument, Perez pulled out a gun and shot the victim in the abdomen, the report said.
A struggle ensued over the firearm in Perez’s vehicle, and somehow Perez ended up shot in the chest, the report said.
Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office deputies arrived along with fire rescue crews, who brought both men to a local hospital.
Perez surrendered himself Tuesday and was booked into jail.
