The rankings are based on beaches that have a high volume of positive reviews and opinions from the Tripadvisor community over a 12-month period.

TAMPA, Fla. — If you’re looking to soak up some sun with a beach day, the Tampa Bay area has three beaches that were recently ranked the “best of the best” by Tripadvisor.

TripAdvisor ranked Clearwater Beach, Siesta Beach and Honeymoon Island as three of the 10 best beaches in the U.S.

The ranking is based on the company’s Travelers’ Choice Awards Best of the Best ranking, awarding beaches that have a high volume of positive reviews and opinions from the Tripadvisor community over a 12-month period.

“Out of our 8 million listings, fewer than 1% achieve this milestone,” Tripadvisor said.


Clearwater Beach ranked No. 2

Grabbing the runner-up spot on Tripadvisor’s list, Clearwater Beach received recognition for “powdery, white sand, blue waters, and spectacular sunsets.”

The website rates the beach a 4.6/5 based on fewer than 13,000 reviews.

Visitors can enjoy the view and shops along Pier 60, as well as a bite to eat at locations like Crabby’s or Surfside Tabhouse.


Siesta Beach ranked No. 6

In Sarasota County, Siesta Beach makes the list at No. 6 based on easy public transportation availability, wheelchair access and plenty of shops and restaurants in the area.

Tripadvisor rates it a 4.7/5 based on over 8,000 reviews.

“Whether you want to relax or fill your day with activities, Siesta Beach delivers,” the website says. “Kick back on the white sand, go swimming in the clear water, or simply admire the sunset—it’s up to you.”

Not too far from the shore, visitors can enjoy the shops and restaurants at Siesta Key Village, from Daiquiri Deck, The Lobster Pot, Boca Boutique and Beach Bazaar.


Honeymoon Island State Park ranked No. 10

Just managing to crack the top 10 list is Honeymoon Island in Dunedin, recognized for its dog-friendly atmosphere and accessible trails.

The park is rated a 4.4/5 based on nearly 3,000 reviews.

“It’s easy to find a peaceful spot for swimming or sunbathing at Honeymoon Island State Park,” Tripadvisor said.

Along with a beautiful view, visitors may enjoy hiking the Osprey Trail, kayaking through Pelican Cove or fishing around the park.
