Port St. Lucie man indicted for threatening to kill US senator and representatives online

  • February 19, 2026

A St. Lucie County man faces federal charges for allegedly sending death threats to three members of Congress through internet messages in November 2025.

Anthony Miles was indicted Feb. 12 on three counts of interstate transmission of threats to injure, according to court documents filed in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida.

The indictment alleges Miles sent threatening messages to one U.S. senator and two U.S. representatives between Nov. 10 and Nov. 15, 2025.

In the first incident on Nov. 10, Miles allegedly sent a message to a U.S. senator stating, “Time for you to get the Charlie Kirk treatment you f***ing piece of s*** a******,” or words to that effect, according to the indictment.

Five days later, Miles allegedly sent threatening messages to two U.S. representatives. In one message, he allegedly wrote, “Go to hell, you piece of s***! F***ing die tonight a******! I’ll kill you myself, you f***ing [profanity]”.

In another message sent the same day, Miles allegedly threatened a second representative, writing, “[U.S. REPRESENTATIVE 2] stupid mother f***er! You’ve had control of the files for 4 years and wouldn’t release. I will kill you, motherf***er.”

The indictment states Miles transmitted these communications “with the intent to communicate a true threat, and with recklessness as to whether the communication would be viewed as a true threat of violence.”

Each count carries a maximum penalty of five years in prison, three years of supervised release and a $250,000 fine. The charges also include potential forfeiture of any property derived from the alleged crimes.
