A bullet was found on a flight preparing for departure from Newark Liberty International Airport on Tuesday, according to a United Airlines spokesperson.
The bullet was found in an overhead compartment on United flight 1511 prior to departing for Miami, the spokesperson said.
Security cleared the airplane before it eventually left for Miami, the spokesperson said.
United directed additional questions to the Transportation Security Administration. Officials from the TSA did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
