Just weeks removed from being named an MVP finalist, Lawrence has made Pro Football Focus’ Top 101 players list for the 2025 season.
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The accolades continue to roll in for the Jacksonville Jaguars following a resurgent 2025 campaign and once again, Trevor Lawrence is at the center of it all.
Just weeks removed from being named an MVP finalist, Lawrence has added another impressive distinction to his growing résumé. Pro Football Focus recently unveiled its Top 101 players from the 2025 season, and the Jaguars’ franchise quarterback landed at No. 72 overall ahead of several high-profile stars across the league.
A Second-Half Surge That Changed Everything
According to PFF, Lawrence’s late-season transformation was nothing short of elite.
After navigating a rocky start in his first year under new head coach Liam Coen, Lawrence flipped the switch down the stretch. He finished the season ranked seventh among all quarterbacks in PFF’s overall grading system with an 83.7 mark the first 80.0-plus season grade of his career.
From Week 13 through the Super Bowl, Lawrence posted a staggering 92.6 PFF overall grade; the highest among all quarterbacks during that span.
That dominant stretch silenced lingering doubts that had followed the former No. 1 overall pick since his arrival in Jacksonville. For the first time in his NFL career, the “he’s arrived” conversation feels definitive rather than hopeful.
Elite Company — And Climbing
Lawrence finished as PFF’s seventh-highest graded quarterback in 2025. The only quarterbacks who graded higher were:
Matthew StaffordJoe BurrowJosh AllenJordan LoveDak PrescottBrock Purdy
Interestingly, while Purdy graded slightly higher overall, Lawrence ranked ahead of him on the Top 101 list — a testament to how impactful his late-season surge proved to be.
He also slotted ahead of elite non-quarterbacks such as Davante Adams, Leonard Williams, James Cook, Nik Bonitto, and Brock Bowers.
The Coen Effect
The Jaguars’ decision to move on from Doug Pederson and usher in a new era under Liam Coen was met with both optimism and uncertainty. Early-season struggles only fueled skepticism.
As Lawrence grew more comfortable in Coen’s offensive system, Jacksonville’s attack began to hum. The timing improved. The decision-making sharpened. The explosive plays returned. And most importantly, the wins followed.
The Jaguars closed the season 13-4, powered largely by an offense that looked vastly different from the unit that stumbled out of the gate.
A New Chapter for Jacksonville
For years, the Jaguars have waited for Lawrence to fully realize the generational potential that made him the top pick. The 2025 season may ultimately be remembered as the year that happened.
An MVP finalist. A Top 101 selection. One of the league’s highest-graded quarterbacks. And the leader of a 13-win team.
The accolades aren’t slowing down and if Lawrence’s second-half surge is a preview of what’s ahead, neither are the Jaguars.
