• I am ticked off at pet owners who let their dogs off leash in city parks. You are creating a hostile and dangerous environment for others who want to enjoy the parks without being afraid of being jumped on, bitten, knocked down or charged by dogs. The city of Winter Park has a dog park in Baldwin Park where your dog can run around without a leash. Dogs are required by Orange County ordinance and the city of Winter Park to be on a leash at all times.
• I’m 73 years old and ticked off that the Florida DMV does not make me take a driving test to renew my license. Just set up a video station to test my vision and reflexes, just so I know that I am not a risk to myself, my passengers and other drivers on the road. A simple step to keep us all safe.
• Four photos, two stories by the same sportswriter, and an opinion piece from another sportswriter, all about Tyler Reddick winning the Daytona 500. I wish the same detailed coverage would happen with stories in the news that actually are far more important.
The flip side
• I just recently attended a bunco event at Annunciation church in Altamonte Springs, hosted by St. Rita’s Circle. Thank you to Patty and her committee for a fantastic, well-run event. We all had a wonderful afternoon enjoying the delicious luncheon and playing two sets of bunco games. Between the beautiful silent auction items, the great door prizes and bunco prizes, it was an enjoyable afternoon.
