Here are the area’s top high school sports performers for Feb. 18. Top performers are based on the results sent in by the coaches.

BOYS INDOOR TRACK & FIELD

Atticus Brown, Croatan: The junior was fourth in the 1,000 in 2:36.81 as the Cougars finished in third place as a team in the NCHSAA 5-A championship meet at JDL Fast Track in Winston-Salem.

Logan Carlson, Croatan: The senior was fifth in the pole vault at 14-0.

Bryson Caulder, Croatan: The senior was eighth in the pole vault at 12-6.

Zach Guerrero, Croatan: The sophomore was eighth in the 1,600 in 4:31.03.

Heath Hartman, Croatan: The senior won the high jump state title at 6-4 and was fifth in the 55 hurdles in 7.94.

Ethan Hughes, Croatan: The junior was fifth in the 500 in 1:08.21.

Ashton Kirkwood, Croatan: The senior placed second in the pole vault at 14-6.

Croatan’s 4×400: The relay of Liam Ondrak, William Reyes, Chase Murphy and Ethan Hughes was sixth in 3:35.64.

Croatan’s 4×800: The team of Atticus Brown, Evan Quigley, Landon Taylor and Zach Guerrero ended fourth in 8:20.62.

Emanuel White, Northside: The senior placed third in the high jump at 6-2.

Northside’s 4×200: The relay of Gavin Davis, Andrew Frazier, Eric Stewart and Jamian Johnson placed sixth in 1:34.65.

Northside’s 4×400: The relay of Xavier Lewis, Jaylin Jackson, Destin Rodriguez and Andrew Frazier was fourth in 3:31.87. 

GIRLS INDOOR TRACK & FIELD

Lela Besemer, Croatan: The junior placed third in the 55 dash in 7.21 and was third in the 300 in 41.06 as the Cougars finished in third place as a team in the NCHSAA 5-A championship meet at JDL Fast Track in Winston-Salem.

Reagan Clifton, Croatan: The sophomore won the state 3,200 title in 11:05.94 and was sixth in the 1,600 in 5:12.99.

Joli Rossi, Croatan: The junior placed fourth in the 500 in 1:20.56.

Victoria Salas, Croatan: The junior placed fourth in the high jump at 5-0.

Lexi Tripp, Croatan: The senior won the 55 hurdles state title in 8.34 and was third in the 500 in 1:19.16.

Croatan’s 4×200: The relay of Victoria Salas, Kaitlyn Sickle, Lexi Tripp and Lela Besemer placed third in 1:45.54.

Croatan’s 4×400: The relay of Joli Rossi, Kaitlyn Sickle, Lexi Tripp and Lela Besemer won the state title in 4:02.30.

Croatan’s 4×800: The relay of Maisey Stephens, Reagan Clifton, Ella Richardson and Joli Rossi was third in 9:59.83.

Taylor Cooper, Northside: The junior was third in the long jump at 16-5.
