At Terry Park, Fort Myers
Ida Baker 2, North Fort Myers 1 (9 innings): Brody Root scored with two outs in the bottom of the ninth inning to give the Bulldogs (3-2) the win. Ida Baker took advantage of two errors in the ninth, one which allowed Root to reach base and one which allowed him to score. Austin Field drove in the first Ida Baker run in the fifth. North (2-3) forced extra innings when Grant Myers scored on an error. Nick Longo was the winning pitcher, working three innings in relief of Root. Red Knights reliever Luke Frost was victimized by Baker’s unearned run. He allowed two hits in 3 2/3 innings.
Gateway 16, Cape Coral 7 (5 innings): Six errors doomed the Seahawks (2-3), who had 13 hits. Kellen Englehart doubled and tripled, driving in two Cape Coral runs. Carter Heisler had two hits including a double, good for two RBI. Mikey Anderson, Will Cramer and Julien Powella had an RBI each.
Cypress Lake 5, Cape Coral 4: Cypress Lake scored the winning run in the top of the seventh inning. For the Seahawks, Julious Sinboulay had two hits and an RBI. Kellen Englehart tripled, and Jonnathan Ribeiro had an RBI.
Elsewhere
Island Coast 10, South Fort Myers 0 (5 innings): The Gators (3-1) held South to three hits for their second 10-0 win of the young season.
Mariner 3, Palmetto Ridge 2: Colin Raftery’s walk-off solo home run in the bottom of the seventh inning gave the Tritons (2-2) the victory. Mariner had tied the game at 2 in the sixth on Antonio Marino’s RBI single. Romeo Gist, the third Tritons pitcher, struck out four in two innings for the win.
