  • February 19, 2026

ST. JOHNS COUNTY, Fla. – Smalls Sliders can build out its first Northeast Florida location, according to our news partners at the Jacksonville Daily Record.

The Louisiana-based chain counts former New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees among its investors.

St. Johns County issued a $500,000 permit on Wednesday for the restaurant planned off County Road 210. St. Johns-based Stansell Properties & Development LLC is the contractor.

The 800-square-foot restaurant is planned east of Interstate 95, across from the mixed-use development The Fountains at St. Johns. Site plans show 14 parking spaces, a dual drive-thru and an outdoor dining area with artificial turf. Indoor dining is not included.

Smalls Sliders operates restaurants in Ocala, Pensacola and Clearwater, with locations planned in Destin and Panama City. According to its website, the company has 30 stores in nine states. The menu features burger sliders with up to two patties and bacon, grilled cheese sandwiches, waffle fries and milkshakes.
