The court hearing in Tallahassee Thursday morning revealed that prominent criminal defense attorney Tim Jansen is assisting with representing Golding.
Golding’s bond comes nearly a month after the City of Tallahassee announced his arrest in connection to the fraud investigation into the stolen city funds, “following an extensive operation.” He was arrested at his home in Illinois just a day before city officials announced his arrest.
He’s charged with two counts of wire fraud, money laundering, grand theft and attempted grand theft, per the city.
State Attorney Jack Campbell told WCTV that detectives were working on the case for months.

An investigation revealed that the Chicago suburb allegedly “unlawfully and willingly participated in the receipt of $2.35 million in stolen funds and facilitated the international transfer of funds to a Mexican bank for an unidentified criminal network,” according to city officials.
Further investigation also indicated that the City of Tallahassee was just one of multiple other victims of this fraud, officials said.
Tallahassee Police Chief Lawrence Revell said $1.4 million was recovered after the investigation.
