A Tampa man is dead after he was ran over by a dump truck in Manatee County.
The Florida Highway Patrol said this happened around noon Wednesday when a 46-year-old Wesley Chapel woman was driving the dump truck in the area of Bella Mar Trail and Diamond Reef Drive in Parrish. The area is a construction site for a new subdivision.
Officials explained the 53-year-old Tampa man was helping the driver back up to unload from the truck when he tripped, fell to the ground and was run over by the truck’s right tires.
Manatee County EMS responded and pronounced the man dead at the scene.
FHP’s Traffic Homicide Unit is investigating this incident.
