In South Florida, where food culture is often defined by excess and indulgence, it’s refreshing to encounter a concept built on inclusion, intention, and heart. Little GF Chefs, the beloved gluten-free baking brand founded by celiac advocate and mother Jereann Zann, has officially opened its first brick-and-mortar location in Fort Lauderdale and it’s already changing the way families with dietary restrictions experience food.

At first glance, Little GF Chefs feels like a cheerful bakery-meets-classroom, filled with bright colors, friendly faces, and the unmistakable excitement of kids discovering the joy of baking. But beneath the playful exterior lies a deeply personal mission: “Every baking kit created here is gluten free, vegan, free of artificial dyes, and rigorously certified free from the top nine most common allergens,” said Zann. “These include wheat, dairy, eggs, peanuts, tree nuts, soy, fish, shellfish and sesame. For families navigating celiac disease or food allergies, the peace of mind is priceless.”

The idea for Little GF Chefs was born at Zann’s own kitchen table. A self-taught baker, she is the founder of the popular Celiac Mama platform and the mother of two children with dietary restrictions. Her daughter has celiac disease and a dairy allergy, while her son has gluten sensitivity. Like many parents in similar situations, Zann faced the emotional challenge of helping her children feel confident and included when food often made them feel different or left out.

“When I saw how much baking helped my kids build confidence and a positive relationship with food, I knew I had to share that with other families,” said Zann. That realization became Little GF Chefs, a line of kid-tested and approved baking kits designed not just to make treats, but to empower young chefs.

From whimsical Unicorn Donuts and soft pretzel bites to seasonal favorites like gingerbread houses, the kits are designed for fun, creativity, and success.

Each kit includes pre-measured dry ingredients, decorating supplies, a recipe card with vegan and substitution options, and even a cooking tool allowing kids to build their own baking supply collection over time. Kits can be purchased individually or through a “Baking Club” subscription, with one to 12-month options that deliver a new baking adventure each month.

The new Fort Lauderdale retail location expands the experience beyond the box. Shoppers can purchase baking kits and mixes in person, along with fresh or frozen gluten-free bakery items such as cake pops, cookies, cupcakes, biscuits, pizza crusts, and toaster pastries. The space also hosts kids’ baking classes, birthday parties, and special-order events, further strengthening its role as a community hub.

That community focus is underscored by Little GF Chefs’ new Baking a Difference Program, which provides free baking kits to food-insecure families who require gluten-free or allergy-friendly diets. Families can apply directly through the company’s website or nominate someone in need.

In a city that celebrates food in all its forms, Little GF Chefs stands out by ensuring no child is left out of the fun. With its Fort Lauderdale debut, Zann’s mission is now firmly rooted in South Florida – one baking kit, one confident child, and one meaningful experience at a time. Enjoy!
