JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A man died Thursday night after his motorcycle hit the center median curb and a tree on Jacksonville’s Westside, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.
JSO said the crash happened around 11:37 p.m. on Crystal Springs Road, near Chaffee Road S.
According to JSO, the man was riding a motorcycle eastbound on Crystal Springs Rd. when he veered to the left and struck the center median curb and a tree. Police said he was thrown from the motorcycle.
The man, who was in his late 40s, died at the scene, police said.
This marks the 28th traffic fatality in Duval County this year and the 7th involving a motorcycle.
